Reverie World Studios, in partnership with independent publishing platform indie.io, is proud to announce that Renaissance Kingdom Wars has officially launched into version 1.0 on November 26th, 2024.  With its seamless blend of RTS battles and grand strategy gameplay,  Renaissance Kingdom Wars invites players to step into the dawn of a new era, shaped by revolutionary advances in science, art, and warfare.

Renaissance Kingdom Wars brings back the golden days of strategy games, reimagined with modern standards and enhanced with retro 2000s-inspired graphics. Players are transported into the Renaissance era, a time of profound innovation and upheaval in science, art, and war. Split between warring kingdoms, merchants, and religions, the Renaissance saw the rise of mercenary armies waging war across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East for the highest bidder.

Players begin their journey as a mercenary captain, thrown into pivotal battles drawn straight from history books.  Rising through the military ranks of their selected nation, players master the easy to learn, yet complex combat system representing the complex and ever-evolving nature of Renaissance warfare. Then they enter the political stage, as their achievements grant them their first holding.

The stage of a minor lord introduces more strategic considerations: resource management, expanding and upgrading their domain, and of course expansion. Whether through political maneuvering, subterfuge, or overt aggression, they have the chance to carve out a kingdom for themselves - up to and including challenging the monarch that hired their company in the first place.

Once that crown is claimed, players are free to expand in classic grand strategy style, on a map stretching from North Africa to Southern Scandinavia and from the Atlantic Ocean to the edges of the Eastern European Plain. Naturally, the game evolves as players progress or suffer defeats, with revolutionary Renaissance technologies emerging and reshaping the political and economic landscape.

Renaissance Kingdom Wars offers three main modes of play: Campaign mode, which features 15 distinct nations with their own unique narratives and plot twists; the sandbox mode, with 28 unique kingdoms and 85 minor lords to select; and finally the skirmish mode, which allows players to experiment with the battle mode while fighting across some of the most iconic Renaissance cities.

During its Early Access phase, the game received several major updates that expanded its scope and refined its gameplay.  Four new nations —the Kingdom of Tlemcen, Hafsid Dynasty, Mamluk Sultanate, and Crimean Khanate—were added, each with unique units, voice acting, thematic music, and new desert-themed towns for Skirmish mode. Campaign mode was expanded with new nations, including Poland, Denmark, Muscovy, and Venice, offering fresh units and strategic opportunities. A major difficulty overhaul significantly increased challenge levels, particularly for veteran players, ensuring a more rewarding and engaging experience. These updates highlight the developers' commitment to continuous improvement, making the game more dynamic and polished as it evolved..
